The SPRS team received a call from a client in Sheldon Iowa with claims of their children seeing shadows and hearing noises. Per the clients, the house sits on a farm with a history of past tragic event that resulted in the death of a past farm hand.
The story goes that one night back in the 1900's, the farm hand had heard some commotion at the main farm house. He went over to investigate. The farmer and his wife were asleep in the house on the 2nd floor when the farmer heard someone in the house. Not knowing who it was, he grabbed a firearm and went to investigate. The farmer then seen someone starting to come up the stairs at which time he fired a shot hitting and killing the inturder. It was after he fired the shot that he discovered it was his farm hand that he had just shot. The farmer ended up going to prison for several years, leaving his very young wife to raise his children and to tend to the farm.
Now to the present.
Claims being reported are in the house that the Farm Hand lived in. The clients children would see shadows in their bed room, hear noises, even have things come up missing and then just turn up out of no where as if they had been there all along.
The SPRS team arrived in Sheldon for the investigation on 10/23/10 around 8 PM. We began to setup the equipment through out the house in the hot spots that the client had pointed out. The hot spots included the child's bed room, Living Room, 2nd floor parents room, and basement. As the team was setting up the equipment I (Dave) decided to walk around the home and take some pictures. I got down to the basement where I began to take pictures when I felt what seemed like a warm hand touch my shoulder. I paused, looked around me and relized that I was totally alone. This was the first of many personal experiances we would have for the night.
As the night progressed, we would get many hits to answers on our KII meter when asking questions related to the farm hand him self. At one point, My self and my case manager were sitting at command central when we both looked up at the same time and seen a shadow about 4'5" tall go from left to right directly in front of us. We both looked at each other and could not believe what we had both seen.
We then got a chance to go to the main farm house where the widow of the farmer still to this day lives.
This house was amazing as it was like stepping back in time. We conducted a few EVP sessions in the home and then headed back to the farm hands home to wrap up the night.
Evidence Review:
We were able to collect several EVP from this location. From both the farm hands house and the main farm house. We were able to conclude that the farm hand and the farmer are both still present on the property. Neither are there to hurt anyone as it is just a place that they loved to be and a place they want to stay.
According to the Farmer's widow, her husband is there waiting for her and according to her, she knows that he is there and she is fine with that.
